ISLAMABAD: The Marka-e-Haq Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Championship 2026 concluded on August 14 with a colourful closing ceremony held at Leisure City Bowling Club, Safa Gold Mall, Islamabad.
The championship, organized by the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF), featured competitions in several categories, including Deaf Women, Deaf Men, Amateur, Singles, Doubles, Trios and Women’s Event. A large number of players participated in the championship and showcased their skills in a highly competitive sporting environment.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Pakistan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. She distributed trophies among the winners and top-performing players.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest applauded the efforts of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation for promoting the sport in Pakistan and providing a healthy and positive environment for the country’s youth. She appreciated the federation’s initiatives aimed at engaging young people in sports and encouraging them to pursue healthy and constructive activities.
President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz Ur Rehman thanked the chief guest for attending the closing ceremony and presenting the trophies to the winners. He also appreciated her role in strengthening Pakistan-United States relations, particularly through greater people-to-people engagement and cooperation.
The closing ceremony also included a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The Marka-e-Haq Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Championship is held every year from August 8 to August 14 as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The championship has become an important annual event on the national tenpin bowling calendar, providing players from different categories an opportunity to compete and showcase their talent.
This year, the championship was dedicated to the Pakistan Armed Forces in recognition of their extraordinary courage, commitment and sacrifices in defending the motherland during Marka-e-Haq. The dedication was aimed at paying tribute to the armed forces and acknowledging their services to the nation.
The closing ceremony concluded with the presentation of trophies and awards to the winners and top performers, bringing the week-long championship to a successful close.
